A Thousand Steps

A journey of a thousand steps, not to find another, but to discover the strength to be our own.

A thousand miles she walked alone,

Through blooming fields and paths unknown.

With every step, a silent hum,

She wandered far for only one.

A thousand nights she traced his name,

In moonlit dreams that felt the same.

She held her breath till morning sun,

Her heart beat soft for only one.

A thousand stars above her head,

She whispered prayers before she slept.

Dreams in silver streams would run,

But all still led to only one.

A thousand kisses never spent,

She tucked away where love had meant

To bloom when time and truth had spun.

She saved her lips for only one.

A thousand letters she once wrote,

Each line a hope, each word a note.

She sealed them all, but sent not one.

They were for her, the only one.

A thousand tears, then none remained.

She rose with light no loss could stain.

She touched her heart. Her search was done.

She loved herself, the only one.
