When the Glowing Lights Go Out

Is it that much that I asked for?

A peek at the sky laden with stars,

just one moment embracing

the quiet intertwining of our paths.

Just a glimpse of that which you hide,

just a shiver of your body next to mine.

No happiness of future times,

no promises of no more lies.

I seek nothing but a way out.

Whatever I savour now,

that is to grow and loosen my burden.

Yet gratitude, boundless joy,

arises in my heart,

seeing, finally, a piece of who you are.

I shall always see you

in the flutter of a butterfly,

and you shall always know me

when glowing lights go out.
