Between Fireflies and Moonlight

Chasing Sunsets is about honoring different paths without needing either person to change—and discovering that presence is sometimes the greatest form of love.

I chase sunsets,

not because they stay,

but because their fading colors

remind me how beautiful it is to be here.

You seek the quiet sky beyond longing,

the stillness where the heart finds rest.

I seek the sacredness of life—

the laughter, the tears, the memories we collect.

Perhaps we are looking at the same moon,

only through different windows.

You find peace in releasing what passes;

I find wonder in embracing what arrives.

I don’t need you to walk my path,

and I hope I never change yours.

Maybe we are simply two lights

learning to shine in our own ways.

Some moments are beautiful

because they cannot be held forever.

Some souls meet not to possess,

but to remind each other to be present.

When the sunset fades into night,

perhaps we will still find the same sky—

you, a quiet flame beneath the stars;

me, a firefly dancing in the dark.

Both glowing,

both fleeting,

both grateful

for this moment we share.
